Automatic Tire Monitoring & Inflation"Saving Fuel, Lives,
& Our Planet"
MAXAIR, ATMI is the only known automatic tire monitoring & inflation system for cars, light trucks, and SUV’s.
Clyde Stech is president and inventor of MAXAIR, ATMI, Inc. He originally owned a company in Texas and experienced major tire problems with his fleet of trucks. He invented the first commercially viable system for maintaining proper tire pressure on heavy-duty trailers in the mid 1980’s. He subsequently invented, pioneered, and patented tire inflation and other systems for the heavy duty trucking industry in the early nineties, including Pressure Guard. Because of his initial efforts in tire inflation, nearly 1,000,000 systems have been installed on trailers since 1989. He realized
the ease in which he could develop systems for cars, light trucks, and SUV’s and, most importantly, the great need for this product. His business partner, Judy Bruner owns and operates an air freight
pick up & delivery company and also realized the dire need for such a product. She has invested her talents and resources in this project and the success of the project to this level is due in part because of her faith in Clyde, and the belief in the product and the necessity of this type of system. Chris Woodward, currently with a top NACSAR Cup team, periodically commutes to MAXAIR as design engineer, and uses his talent in developing complete CAD packages for the patent process and other publications. He worked with Mr. Stech during the development of Pressure Guard and thus has an extensive knowledge of the product that he uses along with his tremendous experience with
CAD software. The ATMI (automatic tire monitoring & inflation) system for passenger vehicles was developed by Mr. Stech in part due to the passage of the TREAD Act (Transportation Recall Enhancement Accountability and Documentation Act) which requires monitoring of tire pressure on new vehicles and as a continuation of previous ATMI systems he developed for the heavy duty trucking industry. He has numerous patents for the trucking industry and now there are over one million automatic tire inflation systems in use in the industry. For the past three years he has developed and has patents pending for MAXAIR, ATMI, Inc., the only known tire pressure device for cars, light trucks, and SUV’s that both monitor and inflate tires to automatically maintain proper tire pressure to desired pre-set levels. He currently has developed and installed systems on several vehicles from three different manufacturers. Mr. Stech would like to continue developing ATMI systems for the many different types of axles currently being used, and develop future systems as manufacturers develop new axles.
The MAXAIR ATMI system surpasses all Tread Act requirements and the heavy duty trucking industry has had the benefit of this type of system for years. There is also a considerable amount of evidence indicating that this product should already have been mandated in order to not only save fuel and lives, but to also help preserve our planet. Mandating low tire pressure monitoring on all vehicles will assist responsible citizens in maintaining proper tire pressure, but it will not eliminate the problems of vehicles operating with low tire pressure. While it will be nearly impossible to legally force a driver to stop and correct the tire pressure when a low pressure-monitoring signal is activated, a MAXAIR ATMI system would virtually eliminate the problems because vehicles equipped with ATMI systems would remove the necessity for human intervention to maintain proper pressure.
